Mentorship Program

When it came time to plan the Dog Nerd facility, my vision was clear.  I wanted a dog training school for the community; for people who love dogs (and training them!) to come together for camaraderie, support, learning, and a sense of belonging.

With this in mind, I have created a mentorship program.

The goal is to bring like-minded dog people together.   I want to help and support those who may want to become dog trainers, especially those who may otherwise not have the opportunity to do so.

If you:

Love dogs

Want to spend more time with dogs and their people

Want to be a dog trainer

Want to know what it is be like to train dogs professionally

Are interested in learning more about positive dog training

… read on!

The commitment: At least one shift per week, for one or two hours. Classes run Monday to Thursday (evenings), and weekends (days).

Your duties:

Assisting our trainers in group classes.  This may include helping with set up and breakdown of equipment (must be physically able to lift chairs, and other equipment), clean up (that’s part of what we do!), and otherwise following directions to help the class run smoothly.

This is a volunteer position to start, but may lead to paid positions as they become available.

The cost of our mentorship program:  FREE

We encourage BIPOC, as well as members of the 2SLGBTQIA communities to join us.

*The mentorship program is open to those 18 years of age and older.
