Reactive Rover 1

Maximum 8 Dog/Handler Teams

One Class per week for 6 Weeks

****** NO DOGS TO THE FIRST CLASS, PLEASE; handlers ONLY! ******

The first step in our Reactive Rover training program.

This class is for dogs who react to other dogs, people, or other triggers by barking, lunging, and/or pulling, when on leash.

A common misconception is that Reactive Rover is for “mean” or aggressive dogs. This simply isn’t true!  This class is appropriate for any dog with “big feelings” that becomes uncontrollable or overexcited in the presence of triggers, such other dogs, people, cars, bicycles, etc.  This includes leash frustrated dogs, and over zealous greeters.  No matter what the reason, we are here to help!

In this class you will be introduced to marker training, management techniques, and strategies on how to handle your reactive dog when out on walks.  We will be using counter conditioning to change how your dog feels about the stressors in their environment.

Your dog will be safely exposed to other dogs, and kept under threshold.

*This class is not appropriate for dogs that have bitten another dog or a person.  If your dog has bitten, please contact us for other available options.  If you’re not sure if this class is for you, please contact us before registering, as no refunds will be given.

This class is very structured, and the safety of all participants and staff is of the utmost importance.   Please note that:

  • Week One will be for handlers only, and is mandatory to attend.
  • No one under the age of 18 is allowed in the facility during Reactive Rover classes

 Prerequisite: None
